Von den Promotion-Experten (Promotion) wurde der Button in der Musikindustrie als Werbemittel zur Ausstattung der Fans eines Musikers oder einer Gruppe übernommen. Inzwischen weit verbreitet, werden Buttons sowohl von Gruppen mit dem Logo ihrer Band als auch auf Festivals mit dem grafischen Symbol oder Namen der Veranstaltung verteilt.
